Horological Meandering

Here I am, in a waiting room. Dangling over infinity. Surrounded by people all probably in a similar state....but who knows? Maybe their minds are vacant....to rent, as it were. Being reticent Britishers nobody utters a word, still less locks eyes. There ...  

And you can see how this brand inspired another well-known Scandinavian watchmaker of some repute. I think it's a nice extra when the day and month are in French, or even German. A little extra exoticism.

Definitely a subjective thing, but I think this is one of the most beautiful perpetual calendar ever made...

It is hard for me to think of another perpetual calandar that combines: Extreme elegance Excellent legibility Great beauty (ok, I know that beauty is in the crotch of the beholder!) Oh, and, at the moment, they are incredible value for money I would be in... 

practise one's French too!!!

Very beautiful no doubt. But to me they have a sort of iterative cold feeling. Or, maybe, they just don't reach those vital bits that create lust,,,,for me. How about your goodself? )

I'm ignorant on this brand, a quick look shows their impressive display of references. That phone needs to be buried first 😇, doesn't do the watch justice 😁 Rgds Raymond

that UJ, at least the oldies, aren't better known. If you do not like the current 'nouveau techno brutal' look that seems so pervasive...."who you gonna call".... I would be interested to hear your views. My steam powered phone...hey, it's a working phone... 

First I look, I thought it is a KV, and then some models look like something from the Isle of Man....plus the cost of entry is quite high so competition is very tough. However, UJ started 1773 so maybe the other brands are inspired by UJ? Or the other bra... 

Personally I am not keen on the current UJ range, they seem to have lost that spark of refinement. And eye wateringly expensive. But isn't that the way with the vast majority of contemporary design? Self concious, trying to make a point, refusing to admit... 

Unfortunately that is very true and that represents a real problem for the retail purchasers of original UJ. When you drift off the well beaten path of horology into the unknown, it can be a dangerous slippery slope. It should not be that way. The small c...  

I assume that in the golden era of true luxury and indulgence (as opposed to mass produced masquerading as rare) that a typical watch lover would buy very few pieces and keep them for decades. The idea that any consumer product should retain a large propo... 

All is extremely well balanced and elegant. Despite of the many information of the PC the watch manages to remain very simple and classy. Best.

Urban Jürgensen is a brand I would love to see more of here 👍🏻
