Horological Meandering

Very thought provoking question.

I think you almost have to, to some extent.  To not do so would be setting oneself up for constant disappointment and ongoing struggles with one's own psyche...which in turn will be felt by and harmful to none other except oneself.  We can't very well take our batch of favorite vintage pieces and go live in the woods forever now can we? I think the key is to be your own gatekeeper, focus on the artistic aspects that come from an individual's mind.  And not forget that after all, these watches are still assembled by hand with someone hunched over a work table, using assistive lenses and smal tools and still requiring human precision.  That is what I try to keep in mind.  And technology has produced some truly astounding horological masterpieces.  We may not always like what is being done, but we can appreciate the efforts.
