Horological Meandering

What's intriguing about these photos is the clear color variation . . .

 

. . . between the rose gold case and the plated movement. The only reason I can think of (other than different compositions of rose gold) is that the movement plates are constructed from brass, which might tend to highlight the reddish tones over the rest of the spectrum, but then the color of the engraved script is more nearly consistent with the case, so I'm back to square one. Can you shed any light on this, Roger? Thanks, Art
