William Lawson O.B.E. (M.B.E.) WW1-WW2

Now granted William Lawson may not have contributed to creating a country, but scholars believe he helped save one.

I think he is in the front row to the far left, this should be William Lawson photographed two years after receiving a presentation watch from the British War Agricultural Executive Committee (WAEC). I am not sure what he looked like, but I am sure he was recognized by two UK monarchs for his efforts in two separate wars for helping save British soldiers from starvation to win two separate world wars.

He was awarded the first time the Ordered Member of the British Empire (M.B.E.) and later after the end of WW2 he was wearing his coat and tails to receive the Order of the British Empire.

Lawson was a lawyer, an agricultural researcher, an the head executive of West Sussex WAEC. He introduced new farming technology/techniques and trained the Women's Land Army how to grow/raise food for the soldiers that fought in both wars.

He is included in several books discussing how Britain survived during the war years when almost all men went to battle.

These are examples.

This was the announcement for his O.B.E.

Example of the detail level of his involvement. Not just administrative, but actual research and publishing requirements and instructions as well as training and demonstrations.

The Prime Minister and Parliament acknowledged the importance of agriculture
