Winston Churchill's birthplace and his pocket watch
Visited the newly refurbished Churchill museum at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock UK yesterday and saw on display the pocket watch described as a 21st birthday present from Winston's father. Lots of other stuff on display were sadly replica artefacts and I wondered if this watch is the same. Alongside here is pictured another, somewhat blurred image, pocket watch claimed also to be Churchill's taken from elsewhere on the internet. Maybe he had more than one watch like most purists here! Clearly the two watches shown are quite different.
A very tiny part of Blenheim Park's long Cotswold-stone wall (9 miles in circumference) is the boundary of my small garden and we regularly walk the park and enjoy a coffee and a cake at the palace's cafes. Yesterday, the palace's car parks were full and I spotted a bevy of MG sports cars, so for the benefit of motor enthusiasts I share my quick photo of the interesting congregation.
