You've made a good start Kari
I also have consolidated my collection over the past couple of years. My consolidation was by far on a much smaller scale but the aim is the same, end up with a bunch of watches that I love to own AND be able to wear.
Previously I've mentioned elsewhere that I'd like to keep a maximum of 8 pieces of high end watches, symbolically one to rotate each day of the week, plus an extra spot for a watch back to service, even though my wearing habit is not to rotate on a daily basis, hence it's just a justification for the limit imposed. Of the 8 pieces they must be watches that I love dearly, from my favourite brands/watchmakers, and there are to be no duplicates in brand. So far, 4 of those spots are taken and one due later this year. The remaining spots will be very carefully filled over time. The intention is that once I reach 8 high end pieces, any new candidates will be compared to the existing 8, and can only be added to the collection by replacing an existing piece, so unless I find the new candidate more desirable than one of my existing watches, I cannot buy it.
Hopefully, by having a rule down like this and being disciplined enough to respect this rule, I'll be able to enjoy wearing the ones I own and also in the mean time save money churning watches over a long period of time
As for the regular watches (MSRP <$8k) I don't have a strict limit right now but the head count currently stands at 4. I'm a lot more rational in this range for some reason so even without an imposed limit, I feel that I have what I need already.

Hi Follows, Last year I woke up and noticed that during the last 7 years I had been buying watches like a maniac. I also noticed that I had tens of watches I did not like to wear and those were just staying in the bank vault. It was also sad to notice tha...

First of all why didn't any of FedEx Couriers to CE turned at my door??? Seriously you have as you say 3 extra watches for your 2 week rotation so that means that you can still ship 3 to me Have you considered reducing a pain of letting go of watches via ...

I have a fast turn over, and wear at least 3 to 5 different watches almost each week. But when I end my collection, then I'l see what I'll do. Certainly I will reduce it to a more human size. Enjoy what you have, till love for these pieces is here. Best, ...
Interesting question.

Not sure what I would do in your place, first of all I don't have as many watches though my wife considers I already have to many. Same as Nicolas I like to rotate several watches a week. I guess that when I get to 52 watches (Damian's magic number), I wi...
You are totally right!

It's a problem when a watch is just collecting dust. I have now reduced many watches from the "collection" which I really liked. But it's a bit problematic if I like to own a certain watch but don't like to wear it. In such a situation it's better to say ...

The climate has gone nuts. In Lapland the winter is two months delayed and the same here in the "south". We got the first snow just two days ago and now it looks nearly like it should. We have just some 20 cm of snow and minus 2-8 degrees Centigrade, but ...

IMHO a great level of maturity. I agree completely with your statement " Now I am quite satisfied: my modest collection represents pretty well my understanding about different brands. In addition to that, each and every watch I own, will get some wrist ti...
