Horological Meandering

While the market is dominated by round watches,I always had a sweet spot for square and rectangular watches. Unfortunately many (most) of these watches are not a good fit for my wrist;some great designs like the Tag Heuer Monaco,JLC Reverso,Hermes CarréH,...  

Own the OF, which belongs to the unlimited list of integrated steel (or other metal) bracelet. That Rado looks really really cool

When I saw it however I could not resist....

For most I did not even know they existed.

To me the aesthetic is super clean. Would love to see one in person. Re “squares”, yes. I’m a fan too. The Octo for me is the most appealing of the bunch, there’s just a whole lot to like from the design, to the metal and therefore feel on the wrist. The ... 

I really like the Rado. It is a masterclass of design.

I am looking fr a square watch to seal my watch buying impulse. I just saw this in the window display today. Saw the green dial with diamond the other day. But nay, I probably will never buy a PP as it a significant sum that I cannot bear to part with and...  

The Hermes CarreH was so tempting to me but felt unfortunately a bit too big on my wrist.

Was mulling to get it recently but got the sea master instead. Posted this somewhere before. This as well. ...  

On my bony wrist,the Hermes somehow did not look right....even recognized by the sales lady

Unfortunately Omega has no longer any square/rectangular watches in their current collections.

While I find square or rectangular watches interesting, Most of them don't sit well on my wrist. That's why the Octo finissimo is my only watch of that category.

I am pretty sure that the same watch with a higher profile would be difficult on my wrist.

Not necessarily perfectly rectangular or square watches, but I consider cushion shapes etc to the category square as opposed to round watches. The Bulgari (I realize I am one of not many that will say this) is in my humble opinion the least attractive one... 

I always admire the pictures of your PT version and the new white gold model is very high on my list. Dangerously,the 1921 sits well on my wrist ....

Every time I see it on another person's wrist I want one! But unfortunately the shape of the Reverso and the shape of my wrist are ennemies ...

Nice to discus square watches. For me an undiscovered subject. In my childhood i remember i wore Casio digital watches. I knew the Cartier Santos from this community and other watch communities. I seen one in a boutique a few years ago when i bought this ... 

I belief there are many reasons why round is accepted as normal. Pocket watches from centuries ago. The dial of a clock. Sun hand. Practicality: Better water resistance. No sharp edges that can pring in skin or in a pocket of a pair of trousers. Round is ... 

Within a larger collection it is however fun to have also a few square and cushion shaped watches to break the uniformity.

My petit collection is petit. Albeit, i want over a watch of three a rectangular and tonneau. The rectangular is one of these Cartier references: WWSA0037 or WWSA0030. The chronograph WWSA0017, i wait when Cartier launches a time only ref of this Santos. ...

And Rado does ceramic so well !!

One example is Rado. The True Square Undigital, as shared by the thread starter, is an interesting piece. But for me, the Tej Chauhan Edition adds a different touch with its playful take and vibrant colours. I really think we need more of such bold watche...  

I was also very tempted by that one....

It is a nice watch, but my two small gripes are (i) it is hard to pair with your clothes and (ii) I had to be extremely careful because I was afraid I might get the strap dirty (then again, maybe because it belongs to someone else, so yes I had to be real...  

If this version would come with a matching yellow ceramic bracelet it would be a killer!
