Great report Michael, I only saw the proto and it seems to have had a few changes since then. I also did not notice the 12 o'clock either! I don't think that the tobacco dial comes out that well in photos but is really stunning in real life, I think this ... 

I suspect that even though the numeral is technically 13, it reads like a 12 with the chrono needle in the way. Not such a big deal. Perhaps there is a significance to using 13? Fun watch indeed, and you are correct about the dial. My photos do it no just...
