It must have been a superb experience to create such ideas and then see them realised. Could you perhaps give some more details (or ask Beat Weinmann to chip in) about the construction of the unique case? I would particularly love to learn more about how ... 

The pattern is due to the folds of the original steel billet - that seems to be the modern way to recreate damascus steel You can find it used in knives, golf putters and more - can produce very lovely patterns ps It's not the only 'undocumented' option....  

...is certainly not available on their online configurator! I easily whisked away an hour yesterday on there... Great piece. Congratulations!
