Interestingly enough, I felt that anyone could intuitively sense where each minute is within each quadrant subdivision based on a history of setting other watches; however in the final analysis you are correct that it is a matter of accepting this piece for what it is and getting as close as you can. Accuracy is a bigger issue when I try to read the time with a quick look.
