great guy, great watches if you get the approach
Hi,
I currently only have a H1 but I am circling the H11. Beat is a wonderful and very open and approachable guy. As said above, and I can only echo this, he is really serious about his craft and about doing things by hand and with traditional machines.
His approach is all about minimalism and paring down to the essentials. It is quite ZEN-inspired (his movements are even called ZEN!). The H11 is in a way the inverse of the H1 in that the balance wheel is in the centre in both warches and the design effort to do that is deliberatly hidden in the movement. So the movement side does look maximally restrained. No Lange like flourishes there.
When thinking about the price it should be borne in mind that (a) this is one of the few seriously hand made watches out there and that (b) he will service and repair it for free for life. In this context I think Haldimann is one of the best value propositions around.
YMMV!
Best

Looking for thoughts on the H11/H12 Impressions? Buyers remorse or joy? Experience? Beat himself (if you\'ve met) What else were you considering when you got this? I\'ve read the articles and comments online, wondering if there\'s anything more/ more pers...

Met Beat. Went to see him at his workshops. I would argue this is the independent watch with one of the highest percentages of in-house handcraft well beyond Roger Smith, Kari and the likes. No CAD/CAM in sight, hand soldered lugs, Grenache type dials lik...
