Halloween Treat: Urwerk UR-150 Scorpion

I'm extremely excited to have just picked up one of the new UR-150s that recently debuted from Urwerk.  More than 15 years ago a friend of mine sparked my interests in watch collecting, and one of the brands that really helped ignite that spark was Urwerk.  However, at that point in time I certainly did not have the budget to buy an Urwerk and I also never encountered one in a shop or met anyone wearing one.  Fortunately, several weeks ago an AD I shop at told me they were now going to carry Urwerk and invited me to attend an event where they will be showing a new model that had, at that point in time, not yet been unveiled.

A week or so after the invitation, the UR-150 was unveiled and I became quite excited to see it in person.  The contoured case was an appealing update and the retrograde mechanism was also very interesting.  At the event I was able to try it on the wrist and knew instantly this watch was made for me.  A week later, I am very happy to be able to bring it home:

I really enjoy how the shape of the UR-150 follows the contours of the wrist.

The rotor system features a turbine system similar to many of Urwerkโ€™s models.

Of course the lume layout is fantastic. (This is a grainy photo from my phone, but I did not use any special night mode or extended exposure settings - this is a good representation of what it looks like when the lume is charged.)

Some amazing pieces brought for display at the event, such as this UR-1001!

Honestly I was never interested in the Cobra based on internet photos, however in person I loved it.

The EMC is another piece that, in person, looks amazing but I was always unsure of from the photos. These designs really take advantage of all three dimensions and photos seem to fall short.
