The color of this alligator really works well with the dial. It's a perfect match.
Actually this watch came with the black alligator strap but it was too dressy for my tastes. I hate black straps. Every watch that has ever come with a black strap gets ditched. The only times I will put a black strap on any watch is for a formal event.
I believe you are thinking of the carbon strap from DeBethune which is here. I purchased it when I visited the factory last year.
It is sporty and is the only black strap I will wear often. Looks great on the watch but I threw on the alligator. Just love the color.

It does make your watch more elegant. Doesn't it come with a different strap which is more of a special type of water proof leather? I think that's more sporty. What a beauty!
