Independents

I agree

The rise of independents is a sign of a healthy industry, which is great, but it feels like the independents are leaving a huge gap in the market in the "attainable luxury" category, while saturating the ultra high end, which is a strategy that automatically alienates the vast majority of watch enthusiasts. Why not make a JLC and IWC competitor instead of the 500th iteration of the same boutique brand concept? The watchmakers want to prove themselves and make something great, I get it, but is it a sustainable business strategy?

This watch, as you said, has a dial worthy of the michael kors brand. Why don't people follow Cartier's example? A great movement is nothing without a beautiful watch to put it in.
