Part II: A pair of Ikepod watches
The Horizon: this is the latest vesion with a black PVD coating. Watches with this look are certainly passe, but this one truly cool and my pick of the Ikepod range.
The Solaris: a reversible quartz watch on a very fine mesh bracelet. It looks much better on the wrist than one would expect and works well for both men and women. Marc Newson himself was wearing one.

The new Ikepod watches have entered a new stratosphere of pricing in comparison to the previous iterations. I can't imagine choosing one given the alternatives at the given price level (with complications and in-house movements, etc.). DJK
