it looks like more hand work was lavished on the Grossmann, especially when comparing watches at the same price level. In this case I think the mid to entry level.
Some stuff I noticed that are better on the Grossmann are hand engraved letterings on the movements vs laser(?), black polished crown wheel(cover?), snailing on the ratchet wheel(cover?) etc. The interplay of the different finishing makes the Grossmann watches richer in details.
I own watches from both brands btw, and love both brands, so this is not a snub at Lange. Lange has its own strengths. As a new boy in town I think Grossmann tries to give more back to collectors since they don't have as deep a technical talent pool as Lange, therefore in this case, more effort.

Yes, it is a very very underated brand.
The finishing is top notch and comparable to the top brands, often times even better.
If MG was any more well known, I doubt I would have won the watch :)

Beautifully finished and the size of the watch is perfect!! One of the best from Germany together with Lang & Heyne in my opinion. I actually rate both these brands higher than A Lange & Sohne!
Mine arrived two days ago!
But I have not taken any photos yet. Both the pocket watch and the Atum 37 actually look better than in the photos. They are now my prized possessions!

The email dial and purple hands are a killer combo.
A few other interesting things about the movement...
Clear sapphires are used instead of rubies, the gears are made of ARCAP, the balance wheel and index adjuster have unusual designs that I think are unique to MG, and the movement uses a pillar architecture inspired by historical pocket watches.
Auction wins are the most exciting way to acquire a hard to find piece like this!
May I ask the lug to lug of this 36mm? Is it 44 mm ?
Apologies, I'm having a hard time finding a ruler! 44mm looks about correct however.
