Independents

Wow...

I didn't realize that RGM had stepped up their finishing so much recently. That looks great. I love the MOP too. Amazing choices.

I would love a detailed writeup on your thoughts on the Credor at some point. What a stunning piece!

To answer the original Q about customized watches, I've done it a few times:

1. Armin Strom MFR. Changed the movement to be a pale rose gold + cream/off white dial to make the aesthetic of the watch much warmer. The original was too cold for me. I'm very happy with this one and can't see myself selling it.

2. Benzinger. I liked this a lot, but the 42mm size combined with the case shape and lugs made this a little big/chunky. I was the CEO of a floral company, so had to get the floral engraving on the back smile I ended up selling it because of the sizing, but I could see myself ordering another Benzinger if there was a ~37mm - 40mm option or a more compact case.

3. Felipe Pikullik. I was one of his early customers and thus was able to customize the watch a LOT at an insanely good price. I had him use a texture on the dial to make it look kind of papery, and then went with breguet numerals and made a few other tweaks with Felipe. The finishing was very nice at the money. There were flaws of course, but very reasonable given what I paid. I seriously regret selling this piece! In hindsight, I should have bought ~3 - 5 straps for it and kept it :-(
