Changing tastes

It is really funny. Four months ago, before I joined this wonderful community, had I seen this new IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar with it's mesmerizing red fonts, I would probably have gone out and bought one, although I would be extremely embarrassed to show the back side with the "Top Gun" logo on it. After reading this forum daily, my tastes have definitely changed. I now find myself lusting after traditional pieces like the AL&S Datograph, Richard Lange, or the VC Patrimony Traditionelle, or the PP 5070. I have to say thanks for educating me not to be so impulsive when it comes to sports watches in general, which have been my bread and butter for the last 25 years. That is not to say I have lost my love for IWC. The beautiful IWC Portuguese Minute Repeater is still very much on my wish list.
