Congratulation on finding an excellent example, every once in a while they do come up but black dial ones even rarer. However 3532 in platinum never tempted you? Not so sure the date function does it justice as the steel small seconds far more balanced di... 

The 3532 never tempted me due to the date window. That said, the purple dial is one that I would love to have in my watch box.

How rare is the black dial? I have one! Do you know estimate value? Good condition

The jubilee is a beauty but wears too large for me given the size of the dial (not dimensions). I think the 35mm 3531 wears much larger than one would expect due to the slim bezel and large dial.

My black dial version bought new, one of the last 4 in USA in 2001. Not going anywhere, and still running fine since new and never serviced!
