I believe was 3777-01 (honestly may be wrong ref #, I'm no expert here). These model fell flat for me as the case was 1mm bigger at 43mm, the date window had 3 exposed dates, and the iwc logo was in the subdial. To me, this dial just looked off. Then I believe after a few years they updated the same 43mm pilot chrono and made it look like my 42mm pilot chrono. That was better but I did not like the increased space between the day/date register and 3pm marker. These are small stylistic preferences, all in all great references. I am biased with mine đ
If buying today I'd get the 41mm ref if it has matching Day and date disc colors. Haven't kept up enough to know the variants of colors, etc.

... do you mean 43 mm? That's only 1 mm bigger than yours. Today, IWC has both 41 and 43 mm cases for the various pilot chronograph models. Soon, they are releasing some bigger >45 mm models but I don't have exact details on those.

An unmatched iteration. Movement aside, I donât like the newer ones.
Georges Kern really demolished the brand. They slowly climb back but there still is a long way to go.

Totally get your point but I think he does better than his predecessor. Sizes decrease, back to in-house movements.
Doubt anyone would want Kern back. I mean the decision to make the Aquatimer and Ingenieur more generic⊠he must have been surrounded by yes-men!
