I think we sort of lost the plot on some of these so called "TOOL" watches...
in that they were originally meant as a tool for divers, pilots, plumbers (no wait, probably not plumbers) but they were made a certain size for a reason....because the size made them a better tool.
But they sort of evolved into desk divers and desk pilots and the size then just came about by preference and not necessity or function.
Damn that James Bond...thinking it was cool to wear a divers watch with a Tux. He messed things up big time.
But it helped attract those chicks at the bar thinking these dentists, accountants and Wall Street types were really men of action. lol
I love this big pilot but all I've ever piloted is my car down the freeway.

Big pilot still relevant in smaller watch trend era?

To be that honest…
I still don’t see much of a smaller watch trend in reality. There is some more choice in the reasonably sized range but I do not see the larger edges being depopulated at all. And finally it’s to each what they feel most comfortable with 😊👍🏻

Especially in Asia. Hero used to be muscular wu shu master … Now hero can be make up boy looking male !

Big pilot was from the Beobachtung uhren … Meant for the legibility in extreme situation And the big diamond shape crown meant to be easier grip with glove wearing …
