That 42mm is the right size for this watch and I'm so glad I was able to get one in that size. Your 5001 is a beauty btw! I've had it in two metals and still really miss the gold version of that watch. To me it's IWC's signature piece, and I hope that they don't mess with it!

I totally agree on the strap. No idea why IWC paired that beautiful dial with a rich brown. I think your black will be sublime, and I even think you could pull off lighter greyscale variants with that dial and those applied numerals. Enjoy!

I think this IWC complements your other very nice watches in the box too....sitting next to the GO shows the elegance contrasting with utilitarian.

Each perpetual does at least 1 thing different. The GO has a leap year, the IWC shows the year, and the Blancpain has a split second, flyback chronograph.
Great piece. My favorite of the IWC perpetual calendars.

A fine piece. Congratulations! I particularly love the way the sub dials are large enough to admit long, elegant hands that mimic the hour and minute hands of the watch.
Everything is there and easy to read—no short stubby hands to just barely get the information in. As to "tuna can"… this is better than Albacore! Lucky fellow! FH
