Beige & Brown Khaki for the 68
Black Croc & Brown Khaki for the 65
I would also bet a Black Calf with a dark grey stitch similiar to the Mare 008 original strap stitch would look great as well.
I knew it wouldnt be long before we got into this...LOL...
I think a few well thought out OEM strap options for the 65 would be great....by well thought out i mean in keeping with the character of the watch in all aspects of the straps, keepers etc...the 65 has a very unique look and feel to it in that it actually very masculine with a strong sense of elegance as well....the straps should be the same.
It would be great if JLC would introduce a 3 strap set (not including the original) designed and produced for the 65 boutique & platinum or just the Boutique, with the set having matching #s to the watch #.
I bet they would sell all 65 sets in one hour....
I know I would be buying set #11 in a heartbeat....

Straps and Polaris
I was not totallly happy with the original straps coming with the Tribute to the Polaris, so I became to work ( I should say ..To play ) on the best possible straps for these Re Editions. The Re Edition of the Polaris 65 and 68 comes with the same strap, ...
I like the caramel strap the best...

I wouldn't wear the original strap during my watersoprts activities... Would change it for a Tropic strap, or a waterproof leather strap. Best, Nicolas

Another option
You could get one of the darker cognac or black/dark gray straps, but get the stitching to match the indices on the watch. that way you can create contrast and connection with the dial and the indices.
