I was not totallly happy with the original straps coming with the Tribute to the Polaris, so I became to work ( I should say ..To play ) on the best possible straps for these Re Editions.
The Re Edition of the Polaris 65 and 68 comes with the same strap, a bit tropic looking, but in leather...
Not bad, but doing better is always possible.
Let's first examine the '68 case...
For this one, I'm not really convinced by a Crocodile strap, as it will dress it up too much.
This version of the Polaris is looking as a tool watch, not a ( too ) dressy watch.
So, a tropic, but a true one, may work, as well as a calf strap.
For the moment, I found 4 calf straps for it.
A light brown one, a kind of Caramel:
Very classic, not really matching with the indexes, but enhancing them, working well with the black dial, this choice gives a Vintage look to the Polaris, very " à propos "...
Here, compared wit the original strap ( Thanks, Patrice, for letting me play with your Polaris! ):
Then, another option, with this beige ( a bit orange ) strap, which perfectly matches with the indexes of the '68 Re Edition:
Spectacular, indeed.
It totally enhances the strengh, the contrast of the dial.
Do you have more classic tastes?
No problem, this combo may work very well for you: A Black Calf.
Do you want to give your watch a more Military Look?
Here you are, with an Brown Olive quite khaki Calf strap:
Playing with the Re Edition of the '65 Polaris is a bit more difficult.
The dial is very dressy, and the easier, more evident solution is the Black Crocodile:
The second more evident choice is without doubt the Black Calf strap, a bit less dressy, a bit more " Tool Watch ", which is also nice and interesting.
Then, you may take the risk of the Military Look for the 65, and, why not finally?
Here, with the brown Caramel Calf strap, which strongly contrast with the personnality of the dial, not say its sobriety.
Or, much more sober, the Brown Khaki Olive Strap, a bit dark, but quite elegant, IMO.
The only one I didn't try on the '65 was the Beige Orange, as it is too light for this version...
In fact, I didn't dare...LOL
All the straps I ordrered are 4 mm thick, which is perfect, due to the thickness of the Polaris ( 17,5 mm ! ...Ouch, the hyper domed plexy ... ).
The Strap Game is not only reserved to the Pannies!

The only thing I miss is a strap without stitching, which would be, IMO, a killing option!
To be followed.
Best.
Nicolas
