Hi, That's true and that's why you get a 4 hertz frequency: 28800 vph divided by (60seconds x 60 minutes) equals 8. 8 means 4 cycles for the balance wheel per second so 4 htz. Dje

I understand the 4Hz part of the explanation but I am not too clear about the part on higher beat would mean more "precise". Does it mean those with 6 beats per second (e.g. Journe's Souverain series) would not be as precise as those of JLC?

... a chronograph that has a balance oscillating with 28800 vph could measure intervals of time more precise than one with a lower beating balance - simply as a result of the fact that the chronographs second hand moves every 1/8 of a second vs 1/6 or 1/5...
