Good evening everyone. I started looking for the Duometre chronograph and was leaning towards the original yellow gold version. I found one that seems to be a good price and includes papers (somehow even dated 2020 so still under the new JLC 8 year warran...
Is it polished or just edited out in photos as it is commonly done?
If the number is really not visible, I would say it is a red flag. My first thought would be that someone wanted to make the watch more difficult to trace, but then on the duometre the number is also on the dial ...

Unfortunately, it wasn’t edited by him. I added the red line, but he said that the limited edition number was only visible with a magnifying glass so either worn off or gone with a refinishing.

Methinks if worn off or refinished, some adjacent information would also have been affected. That is a very small "specific" area for the info not to be intentionally removed.
