JLC is my favorite brand. While I understand that JLC is in the business of selling watches, and generally speaking, healthy sales=a healthy company, I personally am not at all interested in a big marketing campaign a la IWC. IMO, IWC has gone too far: too many VIP events; too much glitz and glamour; and too high-priced watches. And in the medium-priced watches, the use of low-cost, third-party movements is a turn-off. I absolutely do not want Kern to bring to JLC many aspects brought to IWC. I don't know Kern, but frankly, I am more worried that Kern will screw up JLC than optimistic that he will bring positive changes.
My open letter to Kern would be:
"Focus on the Product,
Focus on the Product,
Focus on the Product"
