The story of the XGT case, which didn't last that much, as well as the GT platinum cases, too... Ok, I noted, Minute Repeater or Chrono for you... Did you notice the Gran Sport Chrono, in stainless steel? An excellent alternative, very cool, too, and high...

difficult to find so much horological content in a steel watch....seems like in this period watchmaking had more...passion,more enthusiasm. It wasn t just about ...profit,but also about putting heart and should into a watch. Long gone I suppose..... Mo

Which may explain why the success of this Watch was limited. But for what it offers, I think it was a fair price. Long gone, long gone, well, I don't know, we still have some good surprises, nowadays: The Reverso Rouge is one of them, the Duometre is anot...

This collection was one of the high points in JLC's modern history. It is no secret that I would favor the Chronographe Retrograde, and I really hope to add one to my collection some day. But the Minute Repeater, the Tourbillon, the PC, the Geographique -... 

It sometimes turns to nightmaresque obsessions, I agree, but some delightful ones. The diea behind this article was to demonstrate that the interest of the whole collection, of the ensemble, lies on each of these marvels. And the contrary is also valable....

.. to be loved by their lucky & happy owners ! For all but one the Recto AND Verso sides are to be captured !! For Humble Me, I would opt first for the Chrono Retrograde, then for Geographique, and let's assume " no limits" the QP... - Daydreaming.. Night...

Hi Fantastic watches - really wonderful watches! They include some of my favourite watches - not just JLC's. It shows that a large case isn't always necessary for an interesting complication. Cheers JML

but I am biased as I do own one. It is close to be the perfect Art Deco chronograph, at least for me. All these Reversos have been created at a time which I think will be considered one day as the golden age of JLC (with respect to wristwatches)

Interesting point you raise. When you see this sublime collection of RG Reversos, yes, you can think so. But the round case family was not at the same level. Ok, you had the Memovox, the Geographic, the Perpetual Calendar, the RDM and the Master Control, ... 

I love the sobriety of the tourbillon face, combine with the tourbillon on the verso. Geographique font on verso is great! Reminds me of the letters on the St. Michel metro station in Paris.

It is so understated on the dial side but also so magnificent on the back side... ...  

I don't generally see the need for a tourbillon, but of these, I think I like the looks of the tourbillon the best--so pure and simple, and the view of the movement on the reverse side is a perfect application of the reverso mechanism. Hard to choose, tho... 

Moved on because they got almost zero wrist time, but I do miss the Tourbillon from time to time.

I always found that the Reverso design is particularly suited to go with a RG case. It emphasizes somehow the timeless elegance of the watches. Best, Gerard

Yes, each of them has its own interest and dose of appeal. You are absolutely right to recall the construction of the perpetual calendar, and its relation with the Triptyque. Definitely in my top five fav perpetual calendars. What you said about the Chron...

I guess you are right about the see through case back impacting the sound. A MR in such a small and thin case is a tough challenge, already... Best, Nicolas

Excellent pictures!!! For me, would have to decide between the minute repeater and tourbillon. But if I had to pick ONE, would go for the TOURBILLON!! Very classic and subtle 'front' dial, with the incredible tourbillon function on the "Reversed" side! Wo...

I've always loved their mix of classic reverso looks - and serious watchmaking. I think this is one of the best watch series from any brand I've already placed my vote - the Geographique - but I still dream of picking up the repeater or chronograph at a g... 

We have a favourite in common, here. ;) The problem, if you start adding a second Reverso, is that, slowly, you will want a third, then a fourth, then... the complete series. Why not, after all? Enjoy yours, my friend, and please, share some pictures with... 

Re-reading an old thread - but found some extra info. From what I can find Max graduated in 1991, and joined Harry Winston in 1998 having worked for JLC for 7 years. So I guess that means 1991-1998. His bio says "[Max's] responsibilities at Jaeger-LeCoult... 

Had the extraordinary chance of entering JLC on August 1st 1991. Henry-John Belmont had just created the Product Manager position, and I was extremely lucky to land that as my first job after university. I did not therefore work on the first piece, the 60...
