Could because I am very careful with my watches, my JLC Geographic from 10 years ago still has the same gator strap. Well sorry to hear about your experience either way.
The gator straps are not an issue I have them on my JlCs it’s the satin leather that’s the problem. I understand some of the straps use to be made by Camille Fournet earlier
