Yes to a black strap, but without the white contrast stitching. And instead, given the red accented hand, add a red lining to the strap to jazz it up a little.
I tried that for my black-dialled Master Moon (albeit with a brown strap), and I like it a lot. Much like the red-tipped hour hand, the red is not immediately visible, but it peeks out unexpectedly!

Try a Cordovan, a black one. I don't feel the bracelet is the good choice.

I agree that the blue is not a great choice...
My watch strap was replaced, thank you JLC Boutique here, by a black one. I was able to keep the blue for originally reasons, but it rests on my strap vault. Another option is to order a custom made one from CF. Black ostrich works perfectly. Congratulati...
