This is a good and interesting topic.
Of course, LeCoultre and VC have a shared history, no? It is interesting to see the movement so differently finished in these two watches. Like you, even if there is a solid caseback, I like knowing that what is hidden inside is beautiful. It is especially nice when the manufacture nicely finishes the top of the movement that only the watchmaker will see.
I suppose both the movement AND the finish are important to me, although I have much to learn about both of these topics.
I look forward to your return to these watches.
