Here, the Master Compressor Memovox, steel.

Short Serial Number

This Master Control has a lightly etched 4 digit Serial Number, not the uasual 7 digit engraved number. The watch is genuine...its been serviced by Jaeger and has been C\onrfirmed on the Jaeger website. Anyone know why a watch might get this style number?...

Why the Short Number?

Do we know why some watches were given the 4 digit Ethed number while most others got the 7 Digit engraved SN? Maybe a production problem caused some to be shunted aside?

Because this is not a ref number, but a production number. For the Amvox One in steel it is called special edition... Which may be an explanation.
