You know that the E 855 came with a huge variety of dials, but here, I would like to focus on the more common dial, the white one, with normal indexes ( not ebene, nor short and large ones ). Well, this one, to make it clearer... There was, in the very ea...
Both lovely dials, whereby the early dial has such a very smooth charm & unobtrusiveness, but still elegant & fresh, IMO.. :))
.. But I have to say, both are epitomes for the E855, a reference I love dearly, especially in the black version. But any one of your two would make a perfect Ying & Yang, together with the dark "knighthood" of the black.. Thx for such a revelating share ...

A question about details: is there any pattern to JLC's use of "automatic" vis a vis "automatique"?
I only saw on a modern Memovox the word automatique, and it was on a " Reveil ".
Reveil, automatique. I guess they intended to match the language... I never saw automatiQUE on a vintage automatic Memovox. Best, Nicolas

I own one of the earlier versions, with Automatic above the 6, and have always wondered where the differences came from. Now it seems from age, with one preceding the other.
Will do so shortly. I know mine starts with 115....
As an aside, I notice these don't say Swiss Made below the 6 typically....any idea why this might be?
Have a look at the very bottom of your dial, below the indice at 6...

Just turn the ring around the case back, not the case back!

Aaah, this is not the same dial than mine. Ok, yours is called " Ebony " because of the
Indices, and the case number is correct for this version... All good. Best, Nicolas
