Jaeger Lecoultre re thought the Master Ultra Thin Collection. The MUT 38, born in 2008, is now discontinued, at the benefit of this new MUT 38, 5 ( mm ) automatic version. At first glance, this may be difficult to understand, as the MUT 38 with its manual...  

writing on the right post, as not always;) I do prefer the 38.5 exactly for the reason you mentioned, the seconds sub dial looks more balanced and the longer indexes give the watch more elegant feeling in my opinion. I must say that I like the "old" 38mm ... 

I have to admit: I love this watch! The size, the balanced dial, and overall discreet charm makes it a great dress-watch. (IMO) Would I have preferred a silver-grained dial to an eggshell coloured dial? Yes! Or maybe even a version in white gold? Perhaps!... 

But I am totally nut for the white grained dial, so I lack objectivity. As for the difference between this MUT 38, 5 and the MUT Moon 39, you have to see them in the real to notice that there is almost... No difference. Best, Andreas, and thanks for shari...

;) As for your taste, I have to agree. I would prefer the MUT 39 to the MUT 38, and the MUT 38 to this one. But, for those who really want an automatic movement and a small second, this is the one! Best, Nicolas

the varying index sizes. I've always liked the "art deco arrow heads" (as I refer to them, though that may not be accurate). On the 38.5, I like how they lengthen at 3 and 9 instead of shorten on the 40. This makes the 40's dial look much larger, but I wo... 

I was planning to ask JLC to prepare, for my very next visit, all the UT cases, round and rectangular, to stack them all. For a picture. For us to notice all the différences, the variations on the theme. Hence you made me smile with the " Enchilada "... A...

The good thing is that anyone can find HIS MUT. The bad thing is that you can get lost, when you have a look at the whole collection. JLC should pay attention to that, and from what I understood at the SIHH, they will take care of that. Thanks for your fe... 

the smallest changes, such as the index lengths or subdial borders, can make all the difference. And I believe that seeing in person is really the only way to evaluate. On the whole, they all have very good balance and gestalt. I for one am happy for all ... 

With that flatness, the 41 looks like an egg on the plate. The 38, 5 is more coherent, in its volume. In my opinion, of course! Best, and thanks for your feedback! Nicolas

I have the gmut, 40mm version rg with black face. It is a beautiful watch, but I can see how the 38.5 would make it more of a dress watch.
