Not always about use
Hi
I agree that we might not use the alarm function very often - but we could - and that's the bit that's important to me.
I'd guess people who have minute repeaters or chronographs probably don't use them often, but it's there if you want to. And sometimes the looks of the watch out weigh it's function.

I would choose the alarm in this instance.
Alarms are very handy complications that get overlooked by many (not by you!), and this one is an automatic, so worrying about the power reserve running down is secondary-you can wind every couple days; or even put it on a watch-winder. Nice post.
I love both of these combinations. I am a big fan of alarm watches, so adding a PC is a great bonus for me.
But I also love the idea behind the association of a 8 Days movement and a perpetual calendar, which, additional factor, looks more modern than the Grande Memovox. Both are really great! Best, Nicolas

And the Day/Night indicator on the 8-day is a very nice touch. Both are really fine choices.
Well, not that easy.. Conceptually I would like the alarm, but how often are we using our alarms ( honestly)?.. & I am a Memovox addict !.. ;))
From looks & coolness factor, the 8 days.. But as you mentioned it, the WG Grande Memovox, that would be my piece of cake ! Best, hs

Memovox for me
Tough choice but the combination of an alarm and a PC is fairly rare and exciting. I\'d probably go for the steel, which is also fantastic value IMHO.
The 8 days for me I think...
I appreciate the alarm version and I remember it when it was for sale, but I always found it quite thick...I wonder if my memory is correct. In any case, I have this one in steel, which is not platinum, but another option. Dave ...

I'd go for the 8 Days Perpetual
because I don't like the dial of the Grande Memovox. Too many figures on the dial for the alarm complication and the hand with the slice of red it's not really my cup of tea. The Grande Memovox is much better with withe case ( gold or platinum ) IMHO

Hi Instant reflex response is Memovox. It was always going to be case. Platinum with blue dial -.now that would be interesting, though I can imagine it'd have a certain heft. Cheers JML

I have fond memories of this one. I tried it when it was released, in 2000 or 2001. It is thick, heavy, but the combo platinum case / blue dial is top. Best, Nicolas
I prefer the dial layout of the eight day perpetual. And it's stunning in platinum.
It's a touch choice, since I love the idea of the alarm, and the grande memovox is very cool. But, it is automatic, and I also prefer manual wind. Finally, the moon phase may make the dial a bit too busy. Thanks for the pics!

Easy choice for me here the 8 days...I've come close to purchasing the non-skeletonized version that you posted a few times but continue to hold out for my first love in the series...the skeletonized version. Unfortunately they don't trade hands that ofte...
