In its 175 years of History and Life, JLC offered quite a lot of Rectangular and Round Watches... Among the Rectangular watches, we had the Uniplan ( which were also round watches ), the Duo Plan, and, of course, the most famous..Reverso. But, at the same...  

For me it's all about form follows function. All inside the watch goes round, and so should the case. There is somehow no real need for a square case, so it's more like a fashion thing. Current round watches are the evolution of many many decades; I like ...

The majority of my watches are round, I guess that says it all. They just fits me better. Incidentally all my rectangular watches are all dress watch.

rectangular shape is the signature (i.e. reverso) for JLC, but round shape can match with different dresses and ocassions. cheers. stefan

hi Nic, it is the old model. you know i was still thinking of which model to buy either old or new model (38mm or MGUT4). after wearing them on my wrist and carefully compariing their dial, size, movement and finishing, my final decision was still to go f...

hi Nic, yes you are right, it is no necessary to go for complicated one, simple is always the best! the pink gold looks really beautiful and tempting, it is really nice, but gold may not be good for daily wear?! btw, can you send me pm if you roughly know...

Once upon a time, I had a beautiful Reverso Grande Date on a bracelet. It was a fine time piece in every respect, I just could not get use to it on my wrist. When I would look at my wrist, the Reverso did not "sing to me." My personal preference is round ...  

in my opinion without any doubt this is signature case shape of Grande Maison and yes the Reverso is most iconic of all the rectangular watches the strongest association to JLC Best

And quite a few from your own personal collection! I'm beginning to like the Perpetual squelette more and more and the MMR - always one of my favorites.When will the Gyro II be included in your stable? So what was the question?? LOL Cheers Fernando

Some wise person said that just recently, although I cannot recall who it was..LOL Love the abundance of images of so many nice JLCs. Thank you, Nico. As I grow more and more fond of some Reversos and Squadras, I cannot say I have any preference for strai... 

The Reverso is unique, patented, and an icon. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the watch industry. If I could have only one watch it would be a Reverso. And while we're at it, if JLC can make replica's of the original Polaris, why not a copy of t... 

I really do love the way the Reverso's look and I would love to own one, but they don't seem to look "right" when I put them on my wrist. Maybe my tastes will change some day but for now it's round all the way for me. BTW Nicolas I'm honoured you used one... 

if you had asked this question only a few months ago...But since owning my first JLC (which you know is not rectangular) and joining this awesome forum being monitored by an ok gentleman that you may know lol, the rectangular is most likely the next JLC t... 

First, I have to congrat and give you my thanks for this great post....an impressive collection of many wonders. We could call this post ... "doing a great memory of History." It is appreciated that so many models to admire all together. So, thank you. We... 

However, i would recommend IMPO to take the grande taille and not the "extra" grande taille. Having the reserve de marche, i really regretted not getting the duoface. The Xtra size is just to bulky and a little too "show-off", kind of like the Squadra.

... that's what JLC is too me (for 99%) ... BUT !!!!! You know what i prefer off course ..... so eventually i'd go for this one.... WHAT A BEAST ... YEAH El Bimbo .... errr bimbeano .... LOL...

My first JLC was round, a MC Diver GMT. To me it is a fantastic watch and one that I will never get tired of wearing. However it does not fit very well under dress cuffs. My next JLC was a Reverso Duo. It looks beautiful, fits very well under dress cuffs ...

it's one of the early JLC ultra-thins, featuring the movement which was to be the basis for the V&C K1014 and AP K2014. This particular one features an iconic JLC dial, which is simultaneously very simple, yet unique. Tony C.

I believe that the AP version was cal. 2085, not 2014, though information is scarce.

Hands down. The majority of my watches are round, but the most pleasure I get when wearing a watch is looking down at my Reverso, GT size. It sits perfectly on my wrist and looks stunning under a shirt cuff. Rectangular it is.

.. the watch industry comes up with a watch in which the hands move around in squares instead of circles, I prefer a square case. Until then, I guess it just makes sense that hands move in circles in a round case Regards Mark
