I will drop a note on the JLC site and see if they have any knowledge of this happening with other moon discs. I have had the watch running now for a day or so and it seems to be running just fine and appreciate your last comment that hopefully the blue just went on a holiday and the remainder of the internals are fine

Difference in temperature causes humid/moist in safes. My guess is a slight humidity can't cause the blue to vanish, unless the temperature difference from low to high is tremendous, then it may do something rare. I really hope you will get a good repair/...
