Happy where I am now, can't envisage commuting every day. I will say a bit more disconnected from work, but I don't know if that's a change of roles, getting older or going into the office less.
I too can remember the time spent matching ties to shirt & what shoes you'd wear.
I've now more formal shoes than I'll ever need - mainly wear plimsolls now.
Though this still one of my favourite combos

Work did (and always threatens) encroach too much into a balanced personal/family life…
so you put it well below where you say the pandemic showed us what was possible and functioned to relax many things.👍🏽
Things have changed so much in the past few years
Like you, it’s a rare occasion that I wear a suit. Good thing you can wear that watch with any attire, looks great!

We've become more relaxed & lots of us tested working from home. Very much with you the watch works well with pretty much anything - try not to be too beholden on how or what to wear with a watch, just wear what you like. Cheers JML
