I'm just guessing, but I think that JLC used SS because they are sure about the Water Resistance of their Diving watches, and this one is WR to 300 meters. So you have no risk to see some corrosion on the indexes or hands, so why not using SS for them? Be...

R u testing us? The Chrono Dive is WR to 1Km. I also wanted to know, I do see your point with the SS vs WG. So if JLC has a choice in this case, then why not take it up to the highest notch with their products, and use WG!?!? Thanks again, Matrix.
Right, the Depht meter is 300 WR.
The 2 other JLC Diving watches are 1000m , so 1 kilometer WR. I think that using WG for indexes is not that interesting if there is not utility... Who cares about WG on indexes or hands? This is not better if you don't have WR problems, IMO.
