Jaeger-LeCoultre

The 960, IIRC....

First appeared in the Lady Master Control, back in 1992/3. Then, in 1999, the 960R appeared in THE FIRST AUTOMATIC REVERSO - the Gran' Sport Automatique (which won Armbanduhren's/Wristwatch Annual "Watch of the Year," a reader's pole conducted in Germany). Both were with center seconds.

When the NEW Rendez-vous appeared last year with the updated 960, the 967A, the 24-hour indicator was added.

I must say, the moment I saw the GRUT Automatic, I spotted the 24-hour subdial and KNEW it had to be a variant (which is the 967B), but would have preferred either a center or subdial seconds, rather than a 24-hour subdial, since there is nothing ELSE that needs to be alerted as to the time of the day. There are no day or date indicators, requiring pushers, that we would need to say, "Uh, oh, don't push that corrector between 10pm and 1am, or such.

Just an observation.

For me, approaching 10mm would be enough for me to say, I'd like 2 MORE mm and give me an 8-day movement ANYDAY over an automatic!

Mr. Reido, there are many of us lamenting the temporary demise of the JLC twin-barrel 8-day movements, based on the 87X series of movements.

Loyally,

-Dean
