Well, I am giving the Navy SEALs Alarm a go myself. I have a long-standing love for the Master Compressor series with those beefy, technical compressor crowns. I think it was inevitable that I got another one. I am a weak, weak man.
As for the LEs within the LE, JLC had already set a precedent for issuing multiple LEs (AMVOX II, etc.) – so I was not deceived. I actually did not mind the LE in this instance. 1500 pieces is not a LE IMHO, it is more of a limited production with numbers assigned, which is fine. I think that the way in which JLC developed and delivered the Incursions with input from both the Navy SEALs and the enthusiastic JLC customers was outstanding. I recall that series of threads on the topic and it was all I could do to hold myself back from ordering one at the time. And the small numbers of the subsequent LEs made these, in fact, truly limited. Of course, Nicolas, your "sterile" version is the most special one. ;-)
As for the watch, it is pretty impressive. It is a strong tool watch with the Memovox DNA as you pointed out. It does all the things one would want such a tool watch to do. Its legibility is exemplary. I got this one largely to prevent me from misusing and abusing my TTP65, a watch I adore in a very different way and on a different level than the NS Alarm. But I needed a watch with which I could be, well, less cautious. I figured if it is good enough for the Navy SEALs and for our friend Craniotes, it is good enough for me. I also have wanted a black watch with the DLC treatment. And let’s face it, the Incursion is a very cool watch. I love that this LE restored the originally conceived etching on the crystal – a small detail, perhaps, but that change for the “regular” version of the NS Alarm made me hesitate on this one when they were first delivered.
So, for me it is a great watch to wear in the kitchen, when I am out with the dog, to take into the water, etc. -- while it is remains a watch that holds my interest.
Best,
