wrong forum or not?
congratulation Dean!!!
as far as I know there are only two watchmakers, who use this special kind of dieplaying the different timezone, by using a moving ring outside of the indices.
The difference between ALS und JLC is the visibility.
On the ALS 1Tmezone this Ring is visible in full and a indication points to the selected Timezone, which is presented in a small dial next to the place where usual the five will be. Remember the ALS 1 Series have an non centric dial, depending of the model - next to the 3 or next to the 9.
The JLC, here I'm talking about the Master Compressor Geographic has a similar Ring, but here is only a part of it visible in a window next to 6, where a red triangle points to the selected Timezone, which is displayed on a small dial next to 7.
The rest of the timezone ring is below the indices of the main dial and thus not visible.
The most important, what both of these watches have in common is the abilityto switch the timezone the dials are reprasenting. So if one stays some longer time in a different timezone, it is possible to see the now local time on the big dial and the hometime on the small dial. This makes much sense in a practical way, if you make a short glance on your watch, just to check the time.
if any of you know a watch, which is capable of this feature - please notify me.
Thanks in advance, and sorry to the community for posting in a "wrong" forum.
As I'm owner of watches from both brands I read here and trhere and could not decide where to post the "feature" the both have in common.
Congratulation to Dean again, you are the contest winner.
Regards
