Yes, from a personal perspective - design of for example the new GP 1966 Skeleton is much more my taste...
But, no due to when this one was created - the fashion was... Like this!
Also, the Cal 822 is such a small movement so even if in a different type of design, it is difficult to really show the movement.
Look at the Reverso Platinum nr 2, fantastic watch, but the style of the movement does not come to its full potential in that small space.

Art Deco Reverso - very special
