Actually there is no real issue with this watch. The complication is useful, the watch is nicely made and its price tag is very reasonable. But at the end it lacks the spice which would make it very appealing.
I wondered why I had this feeling and I found several reasons:
- the feeling to have seen many times this kind of dial lay-out
- its pure design lacks a bit of personality
- the Sellita base is not very attractive visually speaking
It is a pity because at the end, the complication is well executed and the watch gives a good value for its price.
I would expect from Montblanc a more daring design. I don't say something totally crazy of course... Montblanc remains a global brand and has a strong image. But I would say a design which takes more advantage of the Montblanc DNA than this one which is a bit too "impersonal", too "quiet".
Thanks a lot Robin for the great article.
