Montblanc

Re: Montblanc vs Zenith

Thank you Mike for the detailed sharing.

I will update this with my final decision as i get more comments from people.

Let me answer the questions you've asked one by one.

1. "have you tried both these watches out on the wrist? "
Yes, tried both side by side.

2. "Also what is important to you and what is your lifestyle? "
The looks and a how the chronograph moves are important. No plans to sell it, so i need to be able to live with my purchase.

As for lifestyle, i plan to wear the watch to work meetings, functions, etc.
Outside work, no plans to wear the watch to activities that will actually risk damaging it.

3. " Was there any other selection criteria than inhouse chronograph movements? "
I guess both watches having a Date function helps, but that's about it.

Comparing my hands on experience with both watches:
The Striking 10th was short-listed exactly because of that function. Once i "push the button" the red hand flies into action. It is a pretty amazing sight.
So if i am going with this watch, it is really because of how amazing it is when it jumps into action.

My biggest issue with the Striking 10th is the design. Personally, i like it, but it isn't exactly outstanding with that "wow" factor.
I've tried on a Rolex Submariner and despite it's clean-ish design, it is much more striking than the striking 10th to me.

When it comes to Rieussec, my thoughts are exactly opposite. The design of the watch is fantastic, definitely has that "wow" factor to it.
My issue is with the chronograph function of the watch.
It is nice... but in reality, it does nothing more than slow rotations, when compared to the "flying red hand" of the Striking 10th. So i guess what i am saying here is that it feels a little under-whelming when I "push the button".
