I agree - sometimes buying from a boutique/AD can be a real experience and well worth it in my mind.
I was also in the camp of brushing aside MontBlanc as a serious brand; however handling the pieces in person has convinced me otherwise!

I definitely do know your love for this piece, and fully justified too :P The huge \'beating\' balance wheel is a joy to look at, but I agree that the clasp\' could do with some improvement. Very much looking forward to your final 2016 incoming!
