It's great to have the two side by side and my feeling is confirmed - while the Summit is similar on some photographs it is not even close to the 1858 Tachymeter when side by side. And that's good - it allows a tinge of glamour to pass over to the Summit but at the same time the difference between the two is adequately large so as to allay any fears of existing 1858 Tachymeter owners

Your last photo catches a glimpse of the very special blue dial on the real 1858. Missing mine big time, and it has only been 1 week...

I hope that MB will deal that quickly. It's always too long to wait for your watch to come back, especially when it last more than 2 or 3 months... [nt]
