might very easily become my first MB watch... if one could be sourced". - MichaelC, in response to Robin's announcement of Montblanc's new 1858 collection. Nearly 8 months later, a small parcel has arrived. This is promising... A familiar "5"... Welcome t...
And what a watch, Michael! Huge congrats! What type of straps are you planning on fitting it to? I assume they shipped it to you without a strap to avoid customs delays? In any case, hope you have a spare nato around to strap it on asap! Very happy for yo...
the seller to remove the strap, for exactly the reasons you state. I know how to import a gator strap to the US, but it is not so fool proof, and it depends upon who you get inspecting the parcel. The 16.29 should first be wound by a Purist, not a customs...
Did not mean to confuse. I bought the watch from overseas, and due to import regulations in the US, did not want the piece held up for a strap related issue. I'll get it separately. Appreciate your warm wishes, Raymond.
Not that there are not numerous other options in this realm, but I am accustomed to much simpler chronos than this one. The difference is quickly apparent, and I understand the lure of this sort of movement.
Truthfully, I have wanted to slowly add a piece here and there from what I consider key brands. This 1858 is my MB choice. If Jerome Lambert and the MB Team keep turning out watches like this, it certainly will not be my last.
That could be the ticket, with off white stitching. But I do fancy the contrast of this brown against the dark blue. It certainly works, and continues the theme of "modern vintage" for me.
Definitely gives a more casual appearance to the piece, and maybe focuses more attention on the head. I do not ever wear cuffed shirts for work, so dressing it down just a bit works really well for me.
I remembered that something similar happened with the Lange 1815 anniversary..and Robin review of the MB was really tempting. Well done wear it in good health !! Christian
The deposit was placed long before any reviews. But the glowing remarks and superb photos from my fellow members left little doubt about what I would experience upon arrival. I will offer up my own review in time, as I like to experience the watch for som...
I didn't know all the story! Still I think it confirms that this community has a similar good taste ..so the enthusiasm can spread really fast Enjoy the watch! Christian
Often, I am drawn to polarizing watches that are not chased by everyone. This 1858 Chronograph seems to have a universal acceptance as a winner. Definitely, the enthusiasm spreads, and we can all share in that with the watch or not. The true charm of our ...
I feel the brotherhood with this one. This timepiece is spectacular, and appears to have it all. I am so happy about it, to experience such joy over a little material thing is pretty cool
at first look, I thought it was one of those dodgy parcels from South America containing some suspect contents... however... what a stunning MB! I can't welcome you to the blue dial club (as not a member)... but can welcome you the 1858 club! Cheers Andre...
I am surprised at first, but I guess thinking it through, there is lots of affluence here. I suppose everyone has their thing; mine is actually just the watches This one is a whale for sure. Much different on the wrist than say my AP extra thin Royal Oak....
Montblanc has really issued a spectacular timepiece here. It is as complete a watch as I have - case, dial, hands, movement, finishing - I don't find anything to do different. And you know what? This feeling has me so excited for my next MB watch. I'm hoo...
You are joining a really growing family here - I guess Purists account for a more than fair share of the 1858 Chrono production. And seeing the watch, for good reason Hope it will time many memorable moments for you!
.. It\'s really a splendid timepiece, and one with a superb caseback as window to the movement ! Hopefully hext week there should be one to visit & try in real at the MB Boutique.. Enjoy to wear yours in the very Best of your health !! Cheers & Best, hs
Or perhaps see your photos after you buy it?!? I did not get to see it live before receiving mine, and I can only tell you that the first moments of holding this watch were very exhilarating for me. I hope your experience will be similar.
