Yes, the quintessential look comes out in the models you note. I like those too. I guess the question is whether Panerai should be making any complications or not? They have made many chronos with a similar vibe over the years. Here, the 246 adds the extra hands and the tach scale for the slit second function, as well as the required pushers. I know the introduction of color on the dial doesn't fit everyone's taste either. In any case, I recently posted about the beauty of simple, time only watches with some examples from my collection (different brands), and I often do enjoy the basic models as well.
