Definitely heavier...
...tantalium than steel. I don't think it is as heavy as gold, but probably somewhere in between.
I am sure someone around has a more scientifical answer and could provide the relative mass index of both metals.
My wife does not wear anything else since I gave her the 282 as her Birthday present, and it has been more than four months already.
